Art Spectrum Colourfix Coated Pastel Paper

DescriptionColorfix Paper is a unique natural, toothy surface that will hold multiple layers of pastel without the need for fixative, allowing the velvet bloom and the vibrant color of pastel to be preserved. These papers are used successfully in practically all media - pastels, charcoal, pencil, oils, acrylic, gouache, inks, silverpoint, and even watercolor. The natural toothy surface is ideal for pastels, pencil, or charcoal, as it will hold multiple overlays of color without the need to fix between layers. The absence of fixative allows the velvet bloom and vibrant color of pastel to be preserved. (Apply a final light spray of fixative if desired.) The unique, fine tooth surface is produced by screen printing Art Spectrum Colourfix Primer onto a heavy weight Hot Press watercolor paper. Erasing is easy with Colorfix by simply lifting off excess pastel with clear adhesive tape and brushing off with a dry brush. Paper is acid free, hot press watercolor paper in 140 lb (300 gsm) weight. Colors are lightfast and permanent. Size: 20" x 28" (usable area 19.5" x 27.5") Weight: 340gsm (270lb)

The acrylic based primer allows the paper to hold multiple layers of pastels without the use of a fixative. This paper can withstand scrubbing, sanding, soaking, and erasure. It is suitable for other mediums besides pastel and charcoal, and the wide range of colors provide a variety of ambient backgrounds.
