Recycled plastic beads At Hippie Trail, we're living our dream of being an eco-friendly company, and today, we've taken a big step forward by making beads from recycled plastic. We partner with recycling companies that gather all their plastic from dumpsters, rivers, and beaches – a task that involves a lot of time and effort, as every plastic bottle needs careful cleaning and sorting done by hand.  We focus on recycling: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) from plastic chairs, milk jugs, and bottle caps Low-density Polyethylene (LDPE) from lunch boxes and squeeze bottles, Polypropylene (PP) from vitamin containers and shampoo bottles. These types of plastic are the safest to recycle because they have stable melting points.  Currently, we can only create beads in limited shapes and sizes due to the tricky nature of the material. However, we're always exploring new ways to expand our offerings without harming the environment. Plus, we use authentic colors that emerge during the recycling process.  Join us on the Hippie Trail as we take strides towards sustainability, making a positive impact one recycled bead at a time.

Each one is unique, great stocking stuffer!! Krobo powder glass beads are generally made in West Africa, specifically Ghana. These African beads are made by the Ashanti and Krobo tribes, and were made in the 1900's. Krobo beads are made from powder glass, which comes from finely ground glass most commonly made out of recycled broken bottles and other scrap glasses.
