Festive solid silver vessel in the shape of a large oval footed bowl, divided and segmented by vertical folds, the base set off by a constriction, projecting, wavy, lobed cut-out foot, the upper edge of the bowl correspondingly wavy with the edge of the foot, the rims of the foot and opening with a surrounding rich floral garland and rocaille relief, all surfaces with subtle hammered decoration, the inner wall of the bowl gilt. Matching glass insert with cut groove and star decoration on the upper rim and cut edge with spikes and arches, as well as a large star on the base. Total dimensions: height: 18,0 cm / 20.07 in width: 42,0 cm / 22.47 in depth: 25,0 cm / 3.74 in silver weight: 1,520 grams / 48.87 troy oz Hallmarks: Crescent + Crown - German official hallmark from 1888 800 - fineness 'M'+ diamond in ligature as a variant of 'TM' in ligature - Workshop mark of the court jeweler of the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, jeweler Theodor MUELLER (1838-1908), Weimar Condition: silver cleaned and polished, original glass in very good condition.
