Sometimes people from different fields sell their unused wood to her, like the musical instrument maker. She cuts, reshapes, sands and polishes them all by herself at her home workshop.
Fong Sin Lam designs her pieces according to the wood's natural form or the shape when she collects them. She gets her inspiration by the sight, smell and touch of the wood. The design comes naturally to her. After several turns of sanding and polishing to make the wood smooths and shines.
