A minimalist and almost geometric simplicity underlie this classic design that can integrate well with a wide range of decors, from Early American and Dutch to  Contemporary Farmhouse or Industrial.   The motifs for both our Tulip and Heart sconces derive from Pennsylvania Dutch 'Hex Signs’. Around the mid to late 19th century, folks in that region began painting or otherwise affixing such symbols to barns and other buildings.    Some ascribe to them a talismanic purpose (for example, to ward against disease or evil) while others maintain that they are used purely as folk-art decoration.   This fixture is candle only.   Every piece is handmade to order here in our Vermont workshops.  This fixture has a lead time of 8-10 weeks.
