A superb original hand-signed painting on papyrus with matte and metallic paints. This painting depicts the throne of Tutankhamun, Queen Ankhesenamun holds a salve cup and spreads perfumed oil on her husband's collar in a typical Amarna style scene. The sun disc Aten shines above the royal couple. The size is 9.75 inches by 13 inches. Papyrus is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient times as a writing surface. It was made from the pith of the papyrus plant. All papyrus paintings are sent with "rough" edges, easily trimmed to fit your framing needs. Due to the hand painted quality, the design may vary slightly from painting to painting. The sizing is approximate due to the natural, frayed edges. This painting will be shipped rolled. If you have other shipping specifications, please contact us before ordering. Tutankhamun is the most famous and instantly recognizable Pharaoh in the modern world. His golden sarcophagus is now a symbol almost synonymous with Egypt. His name means `living image of [the god] Amun'. ***Due to the increase in missing packages from USPS, we have decided to offer a signature required shipping upgrade option.
