Led by Rachel Corry, our leather sandal making kit and workshop teaches you how to build stylish slide sandals. Learn how here.
Handcraft a custom pair of leather sandals to your design and style specifications, invest in making a pair of sandals that will last for years to come. This premium workshop, led by expert shoemaker Rachel Corry of Rachel Sees Snail Shoes, breaks the process into clear, simple and straightforward steps. The best part: when you’re finished, you can take the skills you learn and use them to build any sandal style again.
Under Rachel’s guidance, you’ll learn to create a simple slide style of sandal with an optional slingback. But no matter the sandal design, the making process is the same: patterns, cutting, draping, slots, taping, scratching, gluing, and sanding. This sandal making kit is perfect for discovering a new artform—and getting your wardrobe summer-ready.

Important Notes:
The chestnut leather is firmer than the natural, black and medium brown leathers. If you are brand new to working with leather, Rachel suggests starting with natural, black or medium brown leather as it’s a bit easier to work.
To finish your sandals, you will need a tabletop sander or can work with a local cobbler to sand and trim down the edges for a more smooth sandal. Be sure to plan your project timeline with this in mind.
