Description Calculating Strips FAQ Ordering Description Description Use this hole punching kit to properly place holes into the strips for our mounting hardware. The template makes it quick and easy for you to hold it up to your strip and then using the punch tool you can quickly make the holes. This tool is extremely useful when you are cutting your own strips from a roll of PVC material that is not scored or punched. Made for all sizes of strips. Hole Spacing Standard hardware requires the holes to be punched every 2 (see example of 8 wide strip below). This allows the strips to fit the vast majority of strip curtain hardware on the market. Some customers choose to use their own hardware and punch their own mounting holes onsite making this a useful tool.     Calculating Strips How Many Strips Do You Need? The table below will show you how many strips you will need to cover your opening (regardless of the height) For instance, a 10' wide opening using 8 strips with 50% overlap would need 20 strips to cover the area. If you had a 20' opening (which is wider than what is on this chart) you would take 20 strips x 2 = 40 strips.   FAQ What is the spacing on the holes for the strips? The holes are on 2 centers as shown below. The below strip is an 8 wide strip but all of the strips have the same spacing so that the strips fit studded hardware systems. Should I order the strips a little taller than the opening? Only if you are wanting the wall mount hardware. With wall mount hardware order the strips 6 taller and 6 wider than the opening you are trying to cover since you are mounting to the face of the opening. Otherwise order the strips to the exact size of the opening. Are the height of the strips measured from the hole or the top of the strip? The height is measured from the top of the strip to the bottom of the strip. The holes are located .75 down from the top of the strip. How do you cut the strips in the field? You use a utility knife and a straight edge to keep the cut straight. Are the strips ready to hang and already punched? Yes the strips are shipped out and ready to be hung right out of the box.
