It was made by the Western Stoneware Company of Monmouth, Illinois around 1920 (Jim Martin and Bette Cooper, Monmouth-Western Stoneware, p. 85). This butter came in 1 to 5 pound sizes. This one is the 5 pound as indicated by the "5" impressed on the bottom. The beauty has a Label Composed of a Fancy Cartouche Hosting "Butter" Inside. Diffused blue coloration. Stands 7" tall.
