These chisels are made from one solid piece of forged steel so can stand up to extreme abuse. They can be struck on the ends with a hammer and sustain no damage. They are hardened at the cutting edge to 58-60 Rockwell and left moderately hardened at the ends to minimize the danger of flying steel when struck. The handles cant up a few degrees from the back of the chisel allowing use as slicks. The handles are dipped in PVC coating.
